Rhonda Hamilton

Senior Director, Administration and Ministry Operations

  • Bio

Rhonda's journey into full-time ministry began with a significant moment of clarity at an AWANA conference. There, she recognized her profound responsibility to disciple her children, which ignited a passion for children's ministry. For the next decade, she dedicated herself to partnering with parents, supporting them in their vital role of

nurturing their children's faith. Following a career as a teacher and administrator in public education, Rhonda joined the FBC Argyle team. Leveraging her expertise in developing efficient systems and structures, Rhonda's role centers on enhancing our ministries and serve teams, maximizing their impact for the Kingdom. She also spearheads our outreach and missions initiatives, driven by a vision for God's transformative work within the Argyle community and throughout the world.

Rhonda's ministry is deeply inspired by Esther 4:14, 'For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?'  This verse resonates with her belief in the purposeful nature of how God has uniquely gifted each of us. She enjoys connecting with individuals and assisting them in utilizing their spiritual gifts for service. When she's not at church, you might find Rhonda lost in a good book, exploring new places, or, her absolute favorite, hanging out with her granddaughter, Zuri. She's genuinely thrilled to be part of what God is doing at FBC Argyle, and her heart is set on making a difference for His kingdom.  Please feel free to connect with Rhonda at rhonda.hamilton@fbcargyle.org.

Sarah Dobbs

Director, Family Discipleship & Children's Ministry

  • Bio

Sarah was privileged to grow up in a Christian family in central Pennsylvania. She came to know Jesus at age 6, and was baptized that summer. She knew she wanted to be a teacher in 4th grade, but always felt a pull towards missions as well. The Lord kindly combined those two passions, and after college she was able to spend several years in Thailand teaching at a bilingual Christian school. She has also taught in public school, preschool, and has recently begun homeschooling her children.

Of all the subjects she has gotten to teach, God’s Word is her favorite. She loves helping children connect everything to Jesus and realize that His love is truly for each of them. Her desire is to help equip each family at FBCA to disciple their children like the Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:7-9 “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Sarah is married to Pastor Ryan, and together they have 4 loving and energetic children. She loves playing games, indulging her sweet tooth, and watching the New York Yankees win (particularly against Ryan’s Rangers).

She is excited to continue seeing God’s faithfulness in action at FBCA, and can’t wait to meet you! You can reach Sarah at sarahdobbs1021@gmail.com.

Alicia Cobb

Director, Bright Beginnings Preschool

  • Bio

Growing up within the loving community of First Baptist Church of Argyle, Alicia was deeply influenced by her parents and the church, which provided her with a strong foundation in God's truth. After making a personal connection with Jesus, she embraced faith and was baptized here in 1998. This relationship with Christ has been a constant source of strength, offering her a profound peace that truly surpasses  understanding, much like the words in Philippians 4:6-7.

Raising her two children alongside her husband within this church family, whom she's known her entire life, is a cherished blessing for Alicia. They feel fortunate to be a part of the Argyle community. In her personal time, she enjoys her role as a soccer mom, delving into books, spending time in nature, and paddle boarding on the lake.

With a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Education from TWU, along with her Texas teaching certifications, Alicia's passion lies in education. She found great joy in teaching 5th grade in public school. After dedicating time to her young children at home, she returned to teaching at their preschool and discovered a deep love for it that has kept her there for over eight years at Bright Beginnings Preschool.

Being actively involved in the ministries of FBCA brings Alicia immense joy, and she  deeply values the support and connection she feels with her church family in Argyle,

    Texas.

Lindsey Green

Assistant Director, Bright Beginnings Preschool

  • Bio

Growing up in a loving Christian home in Broaddus, Texas, Lindsay Green's faith journey began early. Raised in a supportive environment, she came to know Christ as a child, and her relationship with Him has been the bedrock of her life ever since. As her faith deepened, she felt a distinct calling to serve others, particularly in education.

In 2017, Lindsay and her husband, Jeff, along with their two children, Barrett and Ellie, were led by the Lord to Argyle, Texas. That same year, Lindsay was blessed with the opportunity to join Bright Beginnings Preschool, where she cherishes teaching and guiding young children in their formative years, finding joy in their growing curiosity and love of learning.

Beyond her work at Bright Beginnings, Lindsay enjoys family time, reading, traveling, and exploring creative outlets for children. Connecting with others who share her passion for education and early childhood development is also important to her.

Lindsay earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Texas Teacher Certification in 2007, having taught various grade levels throughout her career. However, it was when her own children entered preschool that she discovered her true calling in early childhood education, dedicating her career to nurturing the intellectual and spiritual growth of young minds. Lindsay is deeply passionate about both ministry and education, finding immense joy in serving God through her work with children and their families. Witnessing their growth is a daily blessing.

One of Lindsay's favorite Bible verses, Matthew 19:14, where Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven,” 1 speaks directly to her ministry and underscores the importance of nurturing children's spiritual lives.

What Lindsay loves most about FBC Argyle is its warmth and strong sense of community in Lewisville, Texas. She is grateful to be part of a ministry dedicated to serving others and growing together in faith, believing Bright Beginnings is a truly special place where love and warmth are palpable.

Logan Burchett

Student Ministry Coordinator

  • Bio

Growing up in church, Logan Burchett was immersed in faith and encouraged to participate, shaping his life. Accepting Christ early, his understanding deepened through youth organizations. Church camp in middle school ignited a passionate pursuit of God, marked by late-night Bible reading and eager questions. Camp was a cherished time of focused discipleship.

Throughout his teens, Logan was active in Bible studies and youth services, deeply involved in YoungLife, where he served as a high school youth counselor for two years.

College brought more individual faith experiences, but the desire for community  eventually led him and friends to start their own Bible study.

Later, without a church home, his cousin Alicia invited him to visit FBC Argyle,  reassuring him of its authentic gospel teaching. Helping with VBS field games that summer, he immediately felt welcomed by the supportive church community. He then became involved in the youth ministry.

When the youth pastor moved on, Logan, already engaged with the ministry and the youth, stepped into the role of Student Ministry Coordinator. It's been a remarkable journey, from a solitary faith walk to being surrounded by a caring church family he now calls home.

With a Bachelor of Science in Geography and a certificate in Sustainability from the University of North Texas, Logan shares his love for the natural world through educational field trips at a nature preserve. This experience has deepened his understanding of stewardship and living a life that glorifies Christ, as reflected in Psalm 24:1-2, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.”

Luis Luna

Elder

  • Bio

Luis, a native Texan, moved his family from the Austin area back home to North Texas in the Spring of 2019, settling down in the town of Argyle.  It was not long after, and a few church visits later, he felt like God was calling him to be a part of First Baptist Argyle. Wasting no time, Luis jumped right in seeking opportunities to serve, joining the Building and Grounds team and later becoming the Chair of the Committee.

Recognized as a servant leader, Luis' desire is to serve, acknowledging Matthew 20: "that even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve."  This desire to serve and make himself available resulted in his ordination as a deacon, nomination as Treasurer, Men's ministry leader, and being voted in as Elder. Luis considers it a privilege to be a part of what God is doing at First Baptist Argyle.

Outside of church, life does not really slow down.  Luis supports his wife's desire to care for God's creation as a foster for dogs in need.  When he is not chasing down puppies some of his favorite escapes include going to Dallas Stars games with his wife, kayak fishing, and experimenting with BBQ recipes.

Dan Rexroat

Elder

  • Bio

Growing up on a Kansas farm instilled in Dan a deep love for the land and all that comes with it, especially fishing. A Kansas State engineering and business degree led him to manage mills across Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Family is everything to Dan: his wife Sharron, son Kirk and his wife Kattie, their three grandchildren Braiden, Cierra, and Logan, and great-granddaughter Wrenley. Any time spent with them is cherished.

Mark 12:30-31, "Love the Lord your God...Love your neighbor as yourself," deeply resonates with Dan, and he sees these verses lived out at FBC Argyle. The genuine care for others, exemplified by their Bright Beginnings preschool, speaks volumes to him.

Saved during a college Bible study where he truly felt the Holy Spirit, Dan has long held a passion for youth in their walk with the Lord, serving in youth ministry for much of his life. He's been a deacon at multiple churches, including FBC Argyle.

Currently, Dan helps lead a Sunday School class for singles and married couples dedicated to deepening their understanding of God. They meet Sundays at 9:15 am and welcome anyone interested.  Dan can be reached at sldwfishon@gmail.com.

Raju Samuels

Elder

Born and raised in a Christian family in India, Raju Samuel moved to the United States in 1972 at age 22 to pursue higher education. After learning English at junior college, he earned a degree in Respiratory Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he also met and married Jain John, a registered nurse.

Initially not a believer, he came to faith and was baptized on February 13, 1976, at University Baptist Church. He and Jain were later blessed with two children, Lisa (1978) and Jacob (1981), and became active members of First Baptist Church, Galveston, serving in the youth ministry.

After training at the Standard Oil Petrochemical Institute in Chicago, he joined Amoco Oil in Texas City. In 1987, he was ordained as a deacon, and in 1999, was commissioned as a missionary to Galveston County. Jeffrey Ward

Elder

  • Bio

For Jeff Ward, the path to faith began with simple phone call from an old friend. This conversation stirred a profound longing and curiosity within him, igniting a heartfelt desire to follow the Lord and find peace in Jesus. Hearing about his friend's journey opened Jeff's eyes to the understanding that God's love and grace are truly accessible to everyone. He came to believe that each person needs only to accept this truth and embrace the Father's love.

Jeff is deeply blessed to share his life with his loving and supportive wife, Amy, to whom he has been married for over 20 years. Their two children, Gabriel and Glory, are considered precious gifts and a constant source of joy. Their family circle also includes Max, a 70 pound golden doodle who affectionately demands their attention and love.

Together, Jeff, Amy, Gabriel, and Glory cherish their time together and eagerly  anticipate their next adventure. Jeff finds that the inspiring Word of God serves as a constant companion, providing the wisdom needed to make thoughtful decisions and live a life grounded in faith.

He deeply appreciates one of FBC Argyle's greatest strengths: the genuine love shared among the church family and the sincere desire for each member to cultivate a deep and meaningful relationship with one another and with their Lord Jesus Christ in Argyle and surrounding areas.

Gary Turnbull

Deacon

  • Bio

Gary Turnbull came to know Jesus as his Savior during RA camp as a young boy, a foundational experience in his life. He and his wife have been together for over 60 years, their connection rooted in a shared lifetime at the same church. They are blessed with a daughter, a son, and two granddaughters. His wife has always had a love for dogs, and their current Westie, Duncan, is a cherished member of their family. While Gary enjoyed many hobbies over the years, including horses, hunting, fishing, and golf, his focus now centers on his faith and his family.

His career path led him through various roles in business management before God provided the opportunity for him and his wife to own a convenience store for two decades.

Having been raised in Christian homes, God has consistently been the guiding force in their lives. Despite not having formal religious training, Gary has served in numerous capacities within the church, from deacon to Sunday School Superintendent.

Fifteen years ago, Gary and his wife felt God's call to FBC Argyle. They deeply appreciate the friendliness and the strong sense of community they've found there. Gary is filled with anticipation for God's plans for FBCA under Pastor Ryan's leadership and encourages others to join in this work.

Grateful for God's grace and mercy, Gary often finds strength and reassurance in Isaiah 26:4: "Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock."
